Translation roster?

Dear All,

In thinking about our current translation problem, it occurs to this Committee member that the establishing Committee, the future ADH-SA, and perhaps even the Academy itself, could, with the cooperation of the Translation school at the University of Geneva, gather a roster of interested French<--> English translation and/or interpretation students, who would be interested in being paid for small translation jobs. Funds would be needed for this but those could be raised. It would also give the translation students a source of income and something to put on their CVs. I don't think the Committee has time to work this out in the time frame that we're working within, but, this could be an idea going forward (which maybe other people have already thought of). It would be nice for the translators if they were able to get some proper supervision for the tasks from someone in their department. Maybe there would be Translation faculty (even better, any dealing with legal translation!!) who might have valuable insight on this. But the translation school seems like a great resource that could be tapped. A roster, or paid internships... this is just brainstorming.
