We are pleased to report that we had a really productive meeting last night (go, francophones!). We got a few new members of the Committee- so, welcome, new members! Thanks to all who were able to attend, who all had great suggestions.
I. First five draft articles adopted
We drafted and adopted the first five draft articles for the ADH Students' Association's Statutes (Draft articles 1-5, modelled on the CUDIH association's articles, with a few adaptations.) These will be posted to the blog as soon as possible- stay tuned!
II. Two-step approach adopted for our drafting process
We also adopted a two-step approach, for our drafting process. That two-step approach entails going through the CUDIH Statutes article by article, and (1) revising the easier ones first, (2) leaving the current Article 9 and related articles to do last but within the next couple of weeks, which will give us time to discuss the needed Committee positions to be reflected in new Article 9.
III. Volunteers will research other existing student associations here in Geneva
Thanks to the two people who will be researching existing student associations here, and gathering information to establish links with those associations. A blog post will be made for this, which will be Consultation Question no. 3, results and comments welcome. Comments also welcome there on any international student associations that would be useful to explore.
IV. Sample statutes
A blog post will be made for sample statutes of other institutions- this will be called Consultation Question no. 4. Sample statutes can be posted there. Last night was a great beginning. We're now drawing on students' experiences and existing statutes coming from not only CUDIH but from Montreal, Iraq, Armenia, Peru, Uzbekistan, France... So (keeping within Swiss law, of course) it will be great to continue to reflect ideas coming from our diverse student body of which we should all be proud. This way we will have a truly international students' association in keeping with the goals of the Academy and of ourselves. These samples and ideas will be very helpful, and crucial, for our drafting over the next two weeks.

Thanks to Aram for kicking off the comments on Consultation Questions 1 and 2, below, which will help us move forward with our discussions and drafting process on new Article 9. Comments are very welcome from Committee members and non-members.
