Our Activities and Achievements: To date our activities include the following projects: 1. Moot Court competition and mock trials. 2. “Know your Rights” booklets publication 3. Conferences, trainings, seminars 4. Developing a Law Center for journalism students 5. Exchange programs in Central Asia and NIS.
In addition to these projects, with the OSI-Assistants Foundation-Uzbekistan financial support, we conducted an exchange program with ELSA-Prague, with the Conrad Adenauer Foundation grant support we held “The alternative legal procedure and new systems of reach a settlement” (Альтернативное судопроизводство и новые системы разрешения споров) international conference. TSBA members conducted a social poll “Do you know your rights?”, as well as round tables, trainings, seminars, such as “Criminal Law issues”, “Legal Education in Uzbekistan” etc.
Our recent achievements include the round table on civil society issues and trial advocacy skills training.

Who are we? Our Mission. T S B A – Student Bar Association of the Tashkent City. From the vary name of our association you can see that first of all we are law students. Law students of two schools of Tashkent - Tashkent State Law Institute and National University of Uzbekistan – in 1999 decided to confederate for the purpose of standing upon their rights. In the course of the association’s development in addition to asserting students rights, we generated new ideas and projects. Over the last year we have put on a number of trainings, seminars, round tables; contributed to the first National Advocacy Competition on the Uzbek national legislation; participated in an exchange program. Our social activities include trips to the mountains and parties. We try to organize our activities, that it will be interesting to most if not all of our members.
S B A’s Structure: Forum – general meeting of all members of the association. Forum is empowered to solve main issues, such as: election of the chairperson and the executive board, passing the budget, etc.
Chairperson and Board Members – are elected among the members at the Forum. Those people are to administer and direct all SBA’s activities including monthly meetings with members who are in charge of certain objectives.
Committees: • Fundraising; • Public Relations • Recruitment • Information • Academic activities • Social
Control and Revision Commission– carries out general supervision over financial and economic activities of SBA
Goals of the TSBA: 1) to protect the rights of law students; 2) to create favorable conditions for training of young legal cadre able to meet world standards; 3) to strengthen political and social role of law students in the life of the state and society; 4) to unite law students for social, economic and cultural purposes; Main objectives of the TSBA are: - to create and implement programs for studying and solving of social, economic, political, spiritual and cultural needs of law students; - to participate in drafting and implementing of state and government programs; - to enhance legal knowledge, legal awareness and legal culture of citizens (by means of dissemination of legal information); - to organize various seminars, lectures and conferences in the area of law; - to study international legal experience; - to combine efforts of law students and practicing lawyers for the purpose of implementation of idea of the rule of law society; - to cooperate with national judiciary and law enforcement bodies, governmental agencies and organizations, as well as with public human rights institutions and other organizations; - to establish libraries and coordination centers for law students; - to cooperate with other non-governmental public organizations in the world; - to join international organizations as a common member - to engage in other activity not prohibited by current legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
