First meeting:
The ADH-SA will have its first meeting next Wednesday or Thursday, either the 10th or 11th of December (TBD) [SEE UPDATE, BELOW.]. Apparently there is a non-Academy lecture on the 10th. We're waiting to hear back regarding the date- this post will be updated with the information as soon as possible.
UPDATE: The meeting will be Thursday, 11 December at 6:30 pm in Uni-Mail, Room 2170.
Board positions of the ADH-SA:
You will receive a description of the board positions, by email. Please declare your candidacy by replying to all and also, if you wish, by posting your candidate's statement on the indicated place on the ADH-SA blog (http://adhsa.blogspot.com). But at a minimum, please indicate your intention of running by replying to all, when you receive the email describing the board positions- it was the consensus of students at the last establishing committee meeting that this would work best.
Below is a description of the inscription and election process.
Welcome, all- hope to see you at the first meeting!
***
1. Inscriptions
a) Inscriptions will take place at the first meeting next Wednesday or Thursday (TBD). So you may sign up in person there, if you are from the 07-08 class, or from the 08-09 class- it costs 5 CHF to join.
b) Inscriptions will also take place between Thursday, 11 Dec, and Monday, 15 December. You may sign up in person with Audrey, Orsolya, Jelena, Klaus or Gerardo- just give them your name and 5 CHF. To be eligible to vote for all of the board positions, you must inscribe before midnight on Monday, 15 December. The voter list will be closed at that time.
2. Elections
We will have a 2-step election process. First we will elect the President and Student Affairs Officer. Following that election, we will elect the remaining three board positions: the External and Academic Affairs Officer, the Treasurer, and the Secretary.
I. President and Student Affairs Officer:
a. Eligibility for voting:
Any person eligible to be an ADH-SA member (that is, anyone from either the 07-08 year or the 08-09 year) may vote for these officers. This is because these two officers will hold representative functions vis-à-vis the Academy, on behalf of the entire student body of the current year and previous year. They will be elected from among the current year's class (the 08-09 year). You do not need to be a member of the ADH-SA or to pay 5 CHF to vote for these two positions.
b. Method of voting for the President and Student Affairs Officer:
(i) You may come vote in person at the ADH-SA's first meeting on next Wednesday/thursday (TBD), by anonymous ballot. Your name will be crossed off the voter list.
(ii) If we find someone suitable to do this, someone may come to your class with the voter list and a ballot. Your name will be crossed off the voter list.
(iii) You may vote by email, by emailing ADH.Etudiants@gmail.com, from your ADH email account. You will receive a ballot via email in your ADH email account. Just reply to that email (not reply to all- but to prevent any slip-ups, the email that will be sent to your ADH email account with the ballot will be sent from ADH.Etudiants@gmail.com, to itself, with everyone else's names in the BCC). Your name will be crossed off the voter list. These votes will be tallied by more than one person and will be deleted later. Confidentiality will be respected. You may send your email vote any time after you receive the ballot by email, until the closing time indicated on the ballot.
II. The External and Academic Affairs Officer, the Treasurer, and the Secretary.
a. Eligibility for voting:
You must be a member of the ADH Students' Association to vote for these three positions. Thus, you must sign up to be a member first before you can vote for these positions, by midnight on Monday, 15 December. You can sign up as described, above.
b. Method of voting for these positions:
(i) You may vote by email, by emailing from your ADH account, as described above. Because of the proximity to exams and to other looming deadlines, exceptionally, we are probably going to limit this to email voting. We will update you if this changes. Voting will open up for this when you receive the ballot for these three positions, and voting will close at the time indicated on the ballot.
Results will be announced posthaste!
