Election Update 11 December 2008

Dear All,

The election process is in full swing.

Voting in person:
We had a good number of people turn up to vote tonight at the meeting. Each person who voted this evening wrote his or her name on a list. Two persons who are not running for office supervised the voting to make sure no one voted twice, publicly counted (but did not tally) the votes, and made sure there were no problems with the votes. These votes were sealed in an envelope and signed across the back (also done publicly).

Voting by email:
A number of votes have also already been sent by email to the ADH Etudiants email address, but, the more the merrier, so please, send your email vote from your ADH email account. This can be done up until midnight on Tuesday, 16 December 2008.

Tallying of in-person and of email votes:
At 12:00 pm on Wednesday, 17 December 2008, two persons who are not running for office will publicly tally the votes that were cast in person at the meeting tonight, along with the votes that will have been sent by email. This will take place at the computers in the Uni-Mail library, on the first floor. All in-person and email votes will be tallied, and each voter's name will be crossed off the voter list for President and Student Affairs Officer. This will ensure that no one voted twice (in person and by email). Election observers are welcome to come and witness the tallying. Results will be announced at that time.

Reminder- Concerning Step 2 of the Elections:
To vote for the remaining three board positions, you must inscribe in the Association before Monday, 15 December 2008 at midnight. Please make arrangements to inscribe before this time if you wish to vote in the upcoming second part of the election. The voter list will be closed at that time.
